Bad Luck and Bad Experience in Sabah. But...

What is the point of traveling without bringing money? For me, bad luck strikes me on the first day of my oversea trip with ODAC to Sabah on 24th November. Rather than enjoying the first day by shopping for lunch for the Mt. K trail on the next day, I spent a couple of hours, venturing a police post at Tanjung Aru and at the police headquarter at Ssmengkang. This is because I was robbed at the airport. This is how it happened, I was in a bit of hurry, so I just took out my passport and totally forgot about my purse in the baggage before I checked-in my baggage. I thought everything is going to be fine when I reached Sabah. After reaching Sabah, I did not check into my baggage because is a bit troublesome. So right before I kept my bag in another taxi with the others, I quickly grabbed my purse from inside the bag's zipped-pocket. As soon as I got in to another taxi with my other friends, I realised my purse is a bit flattened, and unzipped and unbuttoned. I was so freaking worried and scared to hell. My nightmare came true. All my money in notes were all gone including Malaysia's coins. All I had left is Singapore coins. How weird was that? Then it's true and I know I was robbed. MUST be the baggage handlers at Senai Airport or the Kinabalu Airport. The rest of the five days I was left penniless except for my Singapore's coins.

Anyway,on day 1, we checked in to a catholic hostel. The lobby was a bit eerie since the place was really vacant. but the room was fine and the view from the hostel was magnificent. We could see Mt. K very clearly from the Hostel especially early in the morning.

Day 2

Climbing up to Mt.K was physically and mentally demanding. The weather was cool. We started around 9 plus and reached Laban Rata around 2 plus in the afternoon. But then got a bit lost in finding our way to Pendant Hut a very nice, interesting accommodation. there is no stairs up to pendant Hut but just a rope guiding us on the steep rock to the Hut. There I met R one. Man! He is gorgeous. From first look and further observations, I know he has met most of the criteria to be my Mr. Right. He's not flirtatious unlike the rest and has this pleasant, clean looking. So far I haven't seen him smoking. I hope not.
I couldn't enjoyed my dinner at Laban Rata very much because of the pain on the roof of my mouth. So after Meiping and I ate our dinner, we went out outside to get some fresh air and also keep playing with our breathing with our mouth so that we could see this cold- steamy-cloudy thing coming out from our mouth. It was so cool and the temperature at that time was around 10.5 degrees Celsius at that time.

Day 3

The girls woke up late. By right we should be making our way up to the summit at 1.30 am but we woke up at 1.30 am instead. We really6 thought there would be someone will be waking us up but it never happened. Heck Care!

On the way up, it was freaking cold. To make it worse, my gloves are wet, and I need to remove it so I won't get cold further. On the way up, I made plenty of rest after a few steps. Then I was accompanied by this guide named Lourdes but I called him Lodek infront of Ain. He accompanied me throughout the journey to near-the-summit after i gave up and hid behind a huge rock so that I can cover myself from the strong cold wind, that nearly got my hand to frostbite and myself into hypothermia. The cold was unbearable.
Then descending, Zach go a rope burn that his hand was bleeding quite much. I feel so bad, because I used his gloves on the way down to Sayat Sayat hut. Then we had the climbing down via ferrata. It was so so So So much fun and ENJOYING!!! Really!!! For those who's afraid of height, you will get to overcome it! As if somehow the ferrata thing acts like a curable means to your height phobia.

Yada yada... As soon as we reached Timpohon gate at 7 plus which is already dark, I could not move my neck and my legs throughout were cramped. But at Timpohon gate, there were no vans to pick all the lethargic Odacians out as there was huge landslide blocking the road. then finally we made out of the road blocks by creeping ourselves out of the fallen trees and get our shoes covered in mud. It was so typical of Odacs lah.. Daryl was like exclaiming "this is so Odac! GGXX Good Game to the Extreme"

Day 4

The coolest and Funniest thing during our trip was at Slogan Homestay. There is this huge bungalow comes with an orchid, a river, an open resort-feel dining hall acts as a bridge to another building that has many rooms for guests, are owned by this old couple with both have the formalities "Dr." in front of their names. The place was beautiful and unforgettable. While we were venturing out at the Orchid, Ain,Stehanie, Hidayah,Meiping, Zai, Aryz and I tried to pluck the jackfruit from the tree. the jackfruit was huge. we all one want to get something from the orchid you see so we don't want o give up this time.i laughed most of the time but I laughed real hard at Zai's antic, at our victory of plucking the fruit, and determination of plucking it that we have never seen them in any Odac activities. Zai was like, "I don't care! I'm not going to give up this time!"Ouh Man! we should have record the moment of us at the orchid. It was so hilarious. HAHAHAHAhAh. I cannot forget the part where all of us laughed like crazy witches and wizards with our eyes wide open when the fruit that we tried to pluck for 10-15 minutes fell to the ground. It was so so funny lah and at times, when zai tried to shoo the ants that crawled on to his hand while he tried to pull the branch. So funny lah.

but after we succeeded, and the gardener helped to cut the fruit with his parang,we were a bit dismayed as the fruit has not ripened yet and the other Odacians who have came back a lot earlier than us from the orchid trip got to enjoy their durians. But I do really appreciate the funny moments we had earlier on.

Day 5

White water rafting was super cool although the water is like teh susu. We don't mind at all! the water is very cool! and the scenery was picturesque that no money can afford it!

At night, we are given RM 20 each for our dinner. We are free to go, roaming the city in group. For my group and Joshua's group, we had our dinner at the bay similar to the 'Clark Quay' in Singapore. Then left with a few ringgit that I used to buy a key chain and pencil box to compensate my loss. Sorry friends! For not buying you stuff from Sabah.. Remember.. I was robbed! Then Hongda wants to go to toilet after the pasar malam trip. We went to the Meridien hotel for the toilet in our sloppy outfit. But the doormen were so kind that they allowed us into the hotel with their warmest welcome. Ouuh.. I'm so touched..Thank you man.

Day 6

At Senai Airport, most of us do last minute shopping. Then due to feb's sympathy for me , he offered to lend his money. I borrowed Rm 20 and bought chocolates for my family. At last. something for my family.

CONCLUSION : I started to miss SABAH and Mount K. so next year, i'm definitely coming back to Sabah with ODAC gangs again after A level. Of course, I want to meet him again. I miss R one.
