Yesterday and today.

Yesterday and today.

Have you ever seen a group of cyclists cycling on road in a big group? They are usually the pro-cyclists who own thin, light bicycle that worth thousands of dollars. I’ve never ever dreamt to cycle like them on road, minus the tight outfit and the bicycle. However, yesterday I was able to experience them with th rest of the ODACians. Yes! We set off around 1900 hrs++ and reached East Coast back around 0502 hrs. There were only two breaks in between, with many sub breaks due to the traffic and the ‘catching up’. The first break is at Changi Village when we reached around 2130 hrs and began to set off around 2230 hrs before we continued the expedition. The cool thing when we are about to reach Changi Village, all of us had to walk with their bicycles in a single file across a narrow bridge. There were a lot of people there, look catching crabs from the bridge while some are waiting for 75 of us to cross the bridge. Then w at mthe girls decided to buy water only cause they have no appetite to eat yet due to the congestion and hotness. Yi shuan biand Seow Yu bought Cincau while I bought bandung in packet for only 70 cents. It is so cheap lah.. Th. So reasonable especially in Singaapore… before I continue… one of the teacher brought his dog-pet along. Come on lah… Where ever he goes, if not him, other teachers anor the J2s be over-happy playing with the dog while bringing the dog around. Comeon lah.. there are Muslims here!!! Thankfullly lah… Ain and I (J1), Syafina and Hidaya(J2) beng so rationale and we are tining soo maturedly.. but I amnot denying, that dog is the second- most docile pet I’ve ever seen. After seeing a man and his black huge’guard’ dog at the nearby block. And that dog of the teacher’s ihas won the first place for being the most ‘considerate’ dog as he is very tame, listen to instructions and Don’t sniff around like a typical dog (Understandably- dogs' behaviours)

Frrom Changi Village, we cycled uphill near the Safra chalet, yacht chalet for the army.. Wow!! I think that was the first time I’ve been to that road. And I was quite amazed to see how the Singapore government has stretched out their efforts to make some recreation space for it’s people. Some of the building iare unsurprisingly deserted and have these eerie feeling. Then we stopped for a while in front of Changi Air Base.to wait for the escort vehicles to catch up. As… “Get ready people.. We are going to cycle on the ROAD!!!” Because before that the journey to Changi is all through ‘park Connector’. Sorry.. forgot to mention the journey to Changi, my cycling group was the last on line. Then after ‘changi rest’, we changed position to be the first to lead.’ It was quite pressurizing as the vehicles that escort us in the front is so inconsistent in its speed. And sadly we have to correspond with that speed’ Sometimes it could be fast, and sometimes it sis so slow. And most of the time. It slows down and we had to break many times after achieved the right momentum, which means there is no flow of momentum. I was a bout to explode. Really!! The first time cycling on the road, it was really really… SCARY!!! Every first timers agree like Ain and Hemma who already had this pale look on their face. Next, we have to cycle on the lane because the first attempt is to cycle in a single file on the left of the lane . meaning 2-3 bicycles on a ‘complete’ lane. So COOOOOLLLL! It was scary indeed but after hours of experience, I prefer cycling to the most right of the ‘most-left’ lane. Understand?/ If don’t understand.. Take your time to digest! If yes.. SYABAS! I really wanted to take some shots when we are stopping at he junction but in this expedition, it is dangerous!!! To let go of your hand from the handle especially on the road.. and just waiting for the light to turn green. From Changi, we went to Loyang, Hougang, Bradell, Balestier, Upper Serangoon, Payar lebar at the industrial area..( near Giordano company- Singapore Warehouse), mount Alvernia Hospital( my first time seeing Mount Alvernia hospital), Bedok, Tampines, Little India (road bside tekka, tekka mall, Sim lim), near Bussorah Street, Beach Road, before e set off to Nicoll Highway(Not in Cchronological order but Nicoll highway is the last route before we headed to EAST COAST>. The nicoll highway, wasn’t in the plan route, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, such as there a re a number of casualties e.g. Joanne, Who injured both her knees, Yoge, Yi Shuan .. Anymore??? Don’t know..

Our second break was at a petrol kiosk, near.. an unknown maze-like road. It could be a n exxageration cause by thattime it was already 0300 hrs +++ and everyone is so smelly and sleey. An ambulance camee, to help out Charming who suffered from an unknown suffering’ Wah.. I tell you during the expedition it was so Drama lah… especially with the casualties, ambulance, and the shouting and the sudden breaking of bicycles like the domino effect. I was one of the victims. So paisey lah.. Or should I say all had been the victims. Cycling is fantastic, happening…fabulous. The most-fun thing I love to do!..
One thing… The Mount Alvernia Hospital aite, it looks really eerie… and so inconvenience due to its location which is beside many maze-like’ flyover. Including the up slopes..(Sigh!!)
.. Our journey then are all done on busy roads..expressway… highway

The most unforgettable experience I have is the road block by the police and police traffic. They were near athe end of Nicoll highway, to catch some drunk drivers. From 4 lanes, it narrowed down to 1 lane. There were police and their vehicles situated professionally and cool ly. It was so cool and itin act my first experience .. the vehicles that escort tus have to queue in the line.. while the cyclist were able to pass after the vehicles that they were checking on ended..meaning,… they hold ionto several vehicles first to allow us to go.. it was so cool……. Really!! When we passed them, they advised us sarcastically..”Don’t Speed”.. Haha.. thanks anyway.. buttoo bad.. if we do not speed, We will be unconsiderate to other drivers on the highway for hesitating the traffic and also we were behind schedule. And there were few traffic polices in their motor bikes and cars. The Riders are both malays. As expectd.. and cute.. Haha.. Ayo!. I should have taken picture.. but everything happened so fast. Shoot… it is so memorable……Thanks to ODAC.

Lastly, as what I said that the expedition was quite drama-mama lah.. When we reached East Coast.. and on our way to Macdonald from Bedok Jetty.. This mama..( FYI- I am not a racist.) in his early twenties who looked more decent than his friend wh looked like late twenties and has this gangster look. While we were cycling back…this mama moved in into our way… and I had already suspected something was wrong… he went and pushed one of our Cyclist, Pei Xuan, while she was CYCLING!!! What does this indicating? It indicate he PURPOSELY WANTS TO FIND FAULT.!! Pei Xuan of course lost control and hit on other peers, Ain and rest but Ain fell down hard. STOOOPIT man lah. His friend tried to grabbed him and urged him and called him so as not to harm the public. Then the cyclists aound Pei Xuan stopped momentarily and was so shocked by the incident. You Er… haha.. she instantaneously said “F*** U” Ayo!>>> So drama leh… And not just that… that mama.. continued to attempt to push Dave. Luckily he’s aware and try to avoid it.. and luckily that mama’s fren grabbed him on time. The thing is.. I can’t see him drunk.. or even his “fierce” face lah (who knows if we sparked his anger due to our wrongdoing). What I could see is a rebellious, fire-fighting face who PURPOSELY EAGER to FIND fault with. Us.. I tell you arr… this type of people will degrade their own race and country. And It will be so hard to reform. Yeah and thafter that there were a group of young malay boys aour 14-15 years old. Cycled together in the opposite direction to us havocly.. it’s like thEarly in the mornig around0500 plus.. Where are their parents??? So annoying.. they were also somehow disturbed our cyclists.. Pergi Bla sudah…

OVERALL I TREASURE THE EXPERIENCE AND LESSONSI GAINED …. RICE has given me the opportunity to explore the roads on Singapore… The Cycling Has taught me on how to handle the gear well… and the EXPERIECES ARE UNDENIABLY MEMORABLE!!!!
